I started knitting in Scotland when I was 5 years old and have worked with yarns and fibers ever since. In 2010 I adopted 3 female alpacas and my herd grew eventually to 9. Now in 2026, I have 5 of my girls left with me. It has been my pleasure to explore working with their fiber while coming to know all about alpacas.

Up to now I have done all the fiber preparation myself, including the annual shearing with the welcome help of friends.

I love the natural colors of the alpacas and have no wish to dye any of it. My yarn and Nuno felted alpaca scarves, hats and shawls are all hand crafted, unique pieces created with fiber sheared from my own animals with the felted items having added silk for durability and beauty.

I also weave in the Ravenstail style as taught by Cheryl Samuel.

Working with both of these ancient techniques and designs is all-absorbing and brings a meditative calm to my busy life.
